Entering New Zealand is not easy. A foreign passport valid for at least three months after departure is mandatory. There are different visas depending on the purpose of your trip to New Zealand. Fortunately, most of us who travel to New Zealand don't have much to do. Nationals of Japan can use NZeTA. You don't need to show this before hand. You will receive it at the airport and can use it for your stay in New Zealand for up to three months. You must meet the basic criteria that apply to all New Zealand visas.

How to apply for an NZeTA?

It is important to start applying for the NZeTA well in advance. You can rest assured that your electronic travel authorization application will usually be approved promptly. However, there may be exceptions to your situation where it may take longer or if your NZeTA application is not approved in certain cases. You will then need time to apply for another visa at the embassy.
