NZeTA can be used for almost all common travel purposes. Tourist: Celebrating holidays and visiting friends. For business travel, such as conferences, training courses and other business meetings and work visits. It is also sufficient to apply for paid or unpaid work in New Zealand and to participate in amateur sports.

Nationals of Uruguay with ordinary passports do not need a visa to enter New Zealand as a tourist. However, from 1 October 2019, the New Zealand government will require visitors and transit passengers from Argentina to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (NZeTA) before traveling to New Zealand.

Cruise passengers must obtain a valid New Zealand eTA as Uruguayan passengers arrive in New Zealand by air. In addition, crew members must submit eTA individually, separately from tourists. Employees can contact their supervisors for assistance.

Uruguayan nationals wishing to travel to destinations outside of New Zealand via Auckland International Airport only must also submit a valid eTA. Uruguayans traveling to New Zealand with their families are required to provide passport information to all members when submitting the NZeTA application form. Travelers traveling with other members must submit eTA application forms separately for each member.

NZeTA requirements

To qualify for the NZeTA, you must meet several requirements. Here are the basic visa requirements for New Zealand:

  • You must have a one-way or round-trip ticket when you arrive in New Zealand.
  • Your passport should have the validity of at least 3 months when you depart for New Zealand.
  • After immigration, you may be asked to provide proof of sufficient funds to support you during your stay in New Zealand. So, take some screenshots of your bank balance before boarding the long flight to New Zealand.

If you pose a risk to public safety or order, you may not be allowed to travel to New Zealand. Even if you have been sentenced to prison or suspected of committing a crime for which you could be imprisoned, you are unlikely to be accepted.

How can Uruguayan citizens apply for an NZeTA?

Uruguayans can easily obtain and submit the NZeTA application form online using their smartphone, PC, or tablet within 10 minutes. To avoid inaccuracies and delays in completing the application form, you must retain the following information:

  • Personal Information – full name, date of birth, address, family details (if traveling with family, details of each member).
  • Passport details - passport number, nationality, expiration date.
  • Health information - intention to receive medical treatment or advice in New Zealand.
  • Itinerary - hotel, date of arrival, and departure.
  • Security details - History of criminal convictions.
  • Current email address for receiving approved eTA visa waivers.
  • Debit or credit card to pay registration fees and IVL.

First, fill out the online application and check the details carefully, then pay the related tourist fees and taxes (IVL); Application was sent successfully. NZeTA applications will be processed and approved within one business day.

Apply for a New Zealand visa cheaply, quickly, and easily - for NZeTA online is the cheapest, fastest, and easiest way to fulfil visa requirements. You can apply completely online using the application form on the website. After filling out this form and paying the fee, a passport photo can be uploaded. The application will then be reviewed by Immigration New Zealand. Once the application is approved, you will receive a confirmation via SMS and the visa will be sent to you via email. Then it can be used immediately.

The normal delivery time is five working days. If this is not fast enough for you, you can select the "express delivery" option in the application form. New Zealand Immigration recommends that you apply for your NZeTA as early as possible. You don't need to book a flight or stay overnight to make a request.

The New Zealand government collects a tourist tax called the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). The tourist tax is NZ$35 and is included in the visa fee. The total cost of the NZeTA – including tourist tax, visa fees, and processing fees – is €49.95 per person. For urgent requests, an additional fee of €17.50 per person will be charged.

Are documents required to apply for an eTA from Uruguay to New Zealand?

  • The traveller’s passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the extended departure date from New Zealand.
  • The online NZ eTA application form must be completed.
  • A valid credit or debit card to pay for the online application and IVL fees.
  • Current email address to find approved eTA visa waivers.
  • Citizens with dual citizenship have the right to enter details of the passport that they will use for travel.
  • Provide passport details of each family member and apply the online eTA application form for other relatives as well as for minors individually.
