For your own convenience, however, it is sensible to keep a copy of your approval email — either saved on your phone or printed — showing your NZeTA reference number. It is not required at the border, but it is useful if you ever need to check details or contact support. The most important thing is that you travel on the exact same passport you entered on the application, because the NZeTA is tied to that passport. If you renew or replace your passport before you travel, you must apply for a new NZeTA.
