How long can a person stay in New Zealand and what are the requirements?

Citizens of the 60 visa-waiver countries — including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan and all EU member states — can visit New Zealand on an NZeTA without going to an embassy first. Each visit may last up to 90 days (up to 6 months for British citizens), with a maximum of 6 months in any 12-month period.

To qualify, you must hold a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure from New Zealand, have an onward or return ticket, be able to show you have enough funds to support your stay, be in good health and have no serious criminal history.
