FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
No. You never need to go anywhere in person to apply for an NZeTA — there is no embassy or consulate visit, no appointment and no paperwork to post. The entire process is completed online from your computer, tablet or phone, wherever you are.
You simply fill in the online application form with your passport and contact details, pay the fee and the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) with a card, and submit. Immigration New Zealand assesses the application electronically and emails you the result, usually within 72 hours, linked to your passport. This is what makes the NZeTA so much faster and more convenient than a traditional visa. To get started, apply online now, and if you would like a guided explanation of each field first, see our application form guide.
