Travelling to New Zealand with children is straightforward as long as you prepare their documents. Every child, including babies and infants, needs their own valid passport and their own approved NZeTA — they cannot travel on a parent's authority. Each child is also charged the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL), just like adults.
The easiest approach is to apply for the whole family at once: when you apply online, use the “add traveller” option to include each child, enter their passport details, and pay all the fees together in one session. Copy every detail carefully from each passport, as the NZeTA is linked electronically to a specific passport. If you are travelling with a child who has a different surname, or without the other parent, it is also sensible to carry supporting documents such as a birth certificate or consent letter.
