With an NZeTA you may stay in New Zealand for up to 90 days (three months) on each visit. British citizens are an exception and may stay for up to 6 months per visit. Your planned departure must fall within that window from the date you arrive.
There is also an overall limit: you may spend no more than 6 months in New Zealand in any rolling 12-month period, even if you enter and leave several times on the same multiple-entry NZeTA. Your passport must remain valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure date. If your plans require a longer, continuous stay, the NZeTA is not the right document — you should apply for a New Zealand visitor visa instead, which allows longer visits.
