You receive confirmation at two points. As soon as your payment goes through, you can download a receipt straight away, confirming that your application has been submitted and paid for. Then, once Immigration New Zealand has processed the application, you receive an approval email — usually within 72 hours — and can download the full confirmation.
Keep these documents safe. While your approved NZeTA is linked electronically to your passport and does not need to be printed, having the confirmation and your reference number to hand is useful if you ever need to check details or contact support. If the approval email is slow to arrive, check your spam or junk folder first. You can also confirm the current state of your application at any time on our visa status page using your reference number and email.
