Your NZeTA photo must meet the same standards as a New Zealand visa photo, so it is worth getting it right to avoid delays. If you supply a printed photo it should be 35mm wide by 45mm high. For the digital photo uploaded with your online application, the file must be in JPG (or JPEG) format, no larger than 10MB, and ideally around 540 x 720 pixels.

The photo itself should be recent and in colour, taken against a plain, light-coloured background (not pure white) with no other objects, people or shadows behind you. Your face must be fully visible and centred, with a neutral expression, eyes open, and no hats or sunglasses; ordinary prescription glasses are usually fine if they do not obscure your eyes. A clear, compliant photo helps your application be approved without follow-up requests. You can find the complete list on our requirements page before you apply.
